FHE Undergraduate Student Awards Ceremony; DLIS Recipients

The Faculty of Humanities and Education hosted its annual Undergraduate Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in which the Department of Library and Information Studies presented sixteen (16) prizes to twelve (12) students. For the very first time, the Departmental awards included students in the B.A. in Computer Science Programme (a cross-faculty programme jointly offered with the Department of Computing, Faculty of Science and Technology).

The names of the awardees and their respective prizes are as follows:

  • Orian Anderson: Quida Rowe Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level One for Librarianship
  • Joanna Coc: Quida Rowe Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level One for Information Studies; Quida Rowe Prize for Best Grade in LIBS1003- Introduction to Information Studies; CARBICA Prize for Best Grade in LIBS2703 Archival Concepts & Practices
  • Malik Mittoo: Pippa Fray Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level One for Computer Science
  • Peta-Anne Kildare: Pippa Fray Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level Two for Librarianship
  • Jermaine Walker: Pippa Fray Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level Two for Information Studies
  • Janelle Howitt: Quida Rowe Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level Two for Computer Science
  • Kecha Delusma:  Quida Rowe Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level Three for Librarianship
  • Jo-Deen Anderson: Pippa Fray Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level Three for Information Studies; CARBICA Prize for Best Grade in LIBS3801 Records Management: Principles & Practice
  • Che Hutchinson Serju: Quida Rowe Prize for Outstanding Performance at Level Three for Computer Science
  • Cheryl James-Louis: Dorothy Collins Prize for Best Grade in LIBS2301- Research Methodology for Information Specialists
  • Trishawna Bennett:  Head of Department Prize for Academic Excellence Best Grade in LIBS2704-Introduction to Museums & Galleries
  • Domenic Lewin: CARBICA Prize for Best Grade in LIBS3702 Preservation Management for Libraries & Information Units
